Banning Plastic Bottles
By Angelica Byrne
The sustainability through community plan I chose to take into action is the banning of plastic bottles on the campus of the university I am attending. Not only plastic bottles being sold at our distinct cafeterias, but also in the vending machines. I will first speak and present such idea to my advisor; she is a close person in my life and is the staff member in charge of the green club on campus. Then, I will ask the green club members if they would like to take part in such shift. Once I communicate with her all of the steps that I must take, my friend who is majoring in economics – wants to be a part of the movement – and I will proceed to gathering information on the statistics we can get our hands on. Once we have learned and attained all of the data we need, we will proceed to developing our presentation. At last, we will present this action plan to the board and president at the end of February. If this action plan gets to become reality, then myself and whoever wants to take part in it, will make sure to inform enrolled students, staff members, and parents about everything there is to know about such change. We will be educating everyone on the dos and don’ts and how and why to change their life to a more sustainable one. Click here to read Angelica’s full action plan.
