At Colorado State University, sustainability and environmental stewardship are a big part of our culture. Leaders on campus are consistently open and willing to make changes to lessen our impact on the environment. To contribute to this collaborative effort towards being more sustainable, I would like to implement high efficiency electric hand dryers in Colorado State University’s library bathrooms via legislation through the senate. In getting this project accomplished, I will need to gain support from Facilities Management, the Warner College Council, and the Associated Students of Colorado State University. The Morgan Library bathrooms are heavily frequented, so this piece of legislation will make a noticeable impact on reducing carbon emissions and managing waste on my campus. I believe that by implementing hand dryers in highly trafficked bathrooms, CSU will be taking the necessary steps to achieve our goals and commitments we currently have in place.
